MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Delta State University Women's Tennis Team (1-16, 1-7 GSC) lost a tight 4-0 battle against the Tigers from the University of West Alabama (15-5, 8-0 GSC) this afternoon at Lagoon Park in Montgomery, Ala.
 
The Lady Statesmen showed fight in singles action as Lara Torres took the first set in the no. 4 court against Emiri Takanishi leading to their match being unfinished in the third set at (6-3, 4-6, 0-2)
 
In no. 2 singles Maria Caride battled to a tie breaker in the first set against Alexa Milliam as their match went unfinished.
 
The Lady Statesmen finished their season with a 1-16 record and their first appearance in the GSC Championship since the 2018-19 season.
