CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Baseball Team (32-18) travels to Lakeland, Florida, this week for the South Region tournament! Here is a handy guide of all the information you need to cheer on the Statesmen!
The Statesmen will play in a four-team double elimination bracket with the University of West Florida, the University of West Alabama and Florida Southern College.
The winner of the four-team bracket will play in a best of three Super Regional Championship series with the Tampa Regional which consists of the University of Tampa, Mississippi College, Lynn University, and Albany State University.

THE TEAMS
#6 Delta State
The Statesmen are making their 37
th appearance in the NCAA Division II Baseball Tournament after being named the 2025 regular season Gulf South Conference Champions.
This will be the first trip to Lakeland for Delta State since they went 2-2 in the 2018 regional. The Statesmen are looking to make their second Super Regional Appearance, first since 2019 when they went to Tampa. Delta State is looking to make their 13
th appearance in the College World Series with 12 Regional Championships (three south region championships). The Statesmen have a National Championship won in the 2004 season where they had their program best 54 wins.
#3 West Florida
West Florida was announced as the No. 3-seed in the South Regional with a 33-19 overall record. The Argonauts will make their third consecutive trip and 10th all-time. This will be the second consecutive season the Statesmen and the Argonauts will be seen in the same region pod as both teams were in the St. Leo pod in the 2024 season.
#2 Florida Southern
Florida Southern has its first regional appearance since the 2023 season when the Mocs were selected as the No. 7 seed in a tournament hosted by West Florida. This is the first time since 2018 that the Mocs hosted the regional tournament. Florida Southern went 3-0 in the region in the 2018 tournament, the program's 21st region championship, later finishing in third place in the NCAA Championship. FSC ties NCAA Division II record nine national championships with a 153-84 overall record in the NCAA postseason.
#7 West Alabama
For the first time in eight years, the University of West Alabama baseball team is heading back to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship Tournament. The Tigers earned their spot after capturing the 2025 Gulf South Conference Championship, winning the title for the first time since 2015 and for the fourth time in program history.
