Statesmen Finish Texas Road Trip with 2-2 Tie at TAMIU

LAREDO, Texas – The Delta State University Men's Soccer Team (0-1-1) showed grit and attacking flair Saturday afternoon, earning a hard-fought 2–2 draw on the road against The Dustdevils from Texas A&M International University at Dustdevil Field.

The Statesmen struck first in the 16th minute when Alfie Lally finished calmly to give DSU an early lead. Lally wasn't done making an impact, later assisting Ajay Stewart, who buried a clinical strike in the 72nd minute to put the Green and White back on top. Stewart's goal was his first of the season, highlighting his influence in the attack.

Senior goalkeeper Mason Baglio anchored the defense with three crucial first-half saves, keeping DSU steady during stretches of Dustdevil pressure.

Offensively, the Statesmen grew stronger as the match progressed, out shooting TAMIU 8–4 in the second half and finishing with 11 total shots, six on target.

With the result, Delta State improves to 0-1-1 on the year as they will head to Pineville, La., next Friday to take on the Wildcats from Louisiana Christian University.
