BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Delta State University Football graduate kicker Price Nixon has earned a Gulf South Conference weekly honor announced by the conference office this morning.

Nixon has earned this week's Gulf South Conference Special Teams Player of the week after his performance in last weekend's 23-0 win against Shorter at Parker Field at McCool Stadium.

The Clinton native went 2-2 on PATs and 3-3 on Field Goals, connecting from 26, 28, and a career best 46 yards.

Nixon's 46 yarder was the longest field goal a Statesmen kicker has made since Taylor Crabtree connected with a 47-yard Field Goal against Grand Valley State in 2017.

The Statesmen are on a bye week this week before traveling to Ferrum, Va., next weekend to face the Panthers from Ferrum College
