Cleveland, Miss. - The Delta State University Statesmen Baseball Team (5-2, 3-0 GSC) will host the University of Arkansas-Monticello Weevils (3-4, 2-0 GAC) on Tuesday. The midweek non-conference in-region game is set for 5:00 PM at Ferriss Field.

Scouting the Statesmen: 

• The Statesmen are coming off a big weekend GSC sweep against #17 Lee University. In two of the three wins, the Statesmen erased deficits and won by a run. 

• Austin Estes leads the Statesmen with a .458 batting average on 11 hits, one double, one stolen base, three RBIs, and 10 runs scored. In the series sweep, Estes went 5-11 with three runs scored and three runs driven in 

• Jacob Hill leads the Statesmen in RBIs with nine on the year. He is hitting .346 on nine hits, one double, one homerun, three stolen bases, and eight runs scored. 

• Adrian Byrd has been a force on the mound this season. In 12 innings, Byrd is third in the Gulf South Conference with 19 strikeouts, giving up four earned runs and four walks, posting a 3.00 ERA. 

• Last week, junior Dawson Muenzenmay had three appearances in four games where he collected a save and a win in the weekend series against Lee. In the game one extra inning thriller, Muenzenmay picked up the win and drove in the winning run in the top of the 10th inning with a rbi single to left field. 

Scouting the Weevils: 

• Arkansas Monticello enters this week with a 3-4 overall record and is coming off a weekend conference series against Southern Nazarene University that's finishing today.  

• Elijah Olaybal leads the Weevils at the plate. He posts a .360 batting average with nine hits and six RBIs.  

• Daniel Lizzarraga leads the Weevils in stolen bases with three. He has seven hits on the year, with four RBIs and six runs scored. 

• On nine innings pitched, Hunter Heath has posted a 1.00 ERA on eight hits, one walk, and seven strikeouts.
