Cleveland, Miss. - The Delta State University Statesmen Baseball Team (10-2, 6-0 GSC) will host a big Gulf South Conference weekend ahead against the West Florida Argonauts (10-2, 5-1 GSC). Game one will be played on Friday at 5:00 PM, followed by a double-header on Saturday at 1:00 and 4:00 PM.
The top two teams in the conference will face each other at Ferriss Field for a pivotal series for the conference rankings. Delta State is on an eight-game winning streak, including two conference sweeps, while West Florida is on a five-game winning streak and two conference series wins.

Michael Gross will provide the radio broadcast on Saturday afternoon on the Statesmen Sports Network. Nathan Duff will provide the play-by-play on the FloCollege network Friday night.
Scouting the Statesmen:
- Levi Lang continues to lead the Statesmen at the plate at the DH spot. He posts a .426 batting average with 12 RBIs on 20 hits and two doubles.
- Adrian Byrd continues to dominate on the mound. Coming off of a GSC pitcher of the week award, he looks to continue his weekend success against the Argonauts. On 20 innings, he posts a 1.80 ERA while striking out 26.
Scouting the Argonauts:
- Zack Stokes has been leading the Argos at the plate this season. He posts a .366 batting average, including two doubles, three home runs, and 12 RBIs.
- Gustavo Mendez and William Lybrook are hitting over .380 with one homerun each so far this season.
- Colton Dorsey has been most effective on the mound for the Argos, posting a 0.64 ERA on 14 innings of work and striking out 18.
