Cleveland, Miss. - The Delta State University Baseball Team (2-1, 0-0 GSC) will play their home opener in a midweek on Tuesday, February 10, at 3:00 P.M. The Statesmen will host the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University (2-4, 0-0 GAC) at  Harvey Stadium at Historic Boo Ferriss Field.  

The game will be broadcasted on the FloCollege network along with live stats on the Statbroadcast website. 

Scouting the Statesmen: 

• The Statesmen opened their 2026 season with a series win at Spring Hill. Friday evening, the Statesmen held off a late Badger threat with a 9-7 win. On Saturday, the Statesmen split their doubleheader with the Badgers, winning game one 10-5 but falling in the series finale 5-2. 

• After one weekend of play, Levi Lang leads the Statesmen at the plate. He posts a .500 batting average with six hits, two RBIs, two runs scored, and two walks. 

• Austin Estes also had a breakout weekend at the plate. With four hits in nine at bats, Estes posts a .444 batting average and led the Statesmen in runs scored with six. 

• In his first appearance as a Statesmen, Blake King posted a 1.59 ERA in 5.2 innings pitched. He allowed 1 ER on 4 hits while striking out 3. 

• In last weekend's series against the Badgers, the Statesmen were clutch at the plate with two outs. 13 of the 20 runs scored this weekend came on two out hits from the Delta State Hitters 

Scouting the Muleriders: 

• After dropping the first four games of the season, the Muleriders have turned things around a bit and won their previous two, winning two out of three games last weekend's series against Maryville. 

• Wyatt Fielding leads the Muleriders at the plate with a .474 batting average. He has nine hits with three doubles and two home runs. 

• Micheal Herndon adds three home runs to the Muleriders total of six. He posts a .348 batting average, while leading Southern Arkansas in RBIs with nine.
