RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — The Delta State University Baseball team delivered a complete performance on Tuesday afternoon, riding timely hitting and dominant pitching to a 6-1 victory over the Wonder Boys from Arkansas Tech University at Baswell Field.

The Statesmen improved to 14-10 on the season, using a six-run output and limiting the Wonder Boys to just four hits in the contest.

Delta State struck first in the second inning when Henley Parker came through with a two-RBI single to give the Statesmen an early 2-0 advantage. The Green and White added another run in the fourth as Austin Estes delivered an RBI single, extending the lead to 3-0.

The Statesmen broke the game open in the fifth inning, plating three runs on a string of timely hits. Braden Richardson drove in one with a single before Austin Batts followed with a two-RBI knock to push the lead to 6-0.

On the mound, Mason Shropshire set the tone with a stellar outing, tossing six shutout innings while allowing just two hits and striking out one to earn the win. The bullpen combination of Nash Koczka, Jackson Mayer, and Gavin McCoy preserved the lead down the stretch, limiting Arkansas Tech to just one run.

Offensively, Jacob Palazzo led the way with a three-run performance, finishing 2-for-4 with three runs scored. Batts paced the team with two RBIs, while Estes added three hits and an RBI in a strong showing at the plate.

Arkansas Tech's lone run came in the eighth inning on an RBI double by Tyler Sardelli, but Delta State quickly shut the door to secure the 6-1 win.
