CLEVELAND, Miss. — The Delta State University men's tennis team fell to the Harding Bisons 4-1 on Friday at the Cleveland Country Club.
Harding (11-6) claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2, both by 6-2 scores. The third doubles match went unfinished.
Delta State (8-9) picked up its lone point at No. 3 singles, where
Juan Diego Alzate rallied for a 1-6, 6-2, 7-5 victory.
The Bisons secured the match with singles wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5.
Valentin Greco forced a third set at No. 2 singles after taking the opening set but fell in the decider. Matches at No. 4 and No. 6 singles were unfinished.
The Statesmen take a week off before traveling to Jackson on Tuesday, April 7
th to take on the Tigers from Jackson State University.
