CLEVELAND, Miss. — Delta State softball dropped both games of Tuesday's doubleheader against Arkansas Tech at University Field, falling 15–1 in five innings in the opener before the Golden Suns completed the sweep with a 7–1 win in the nightcap.

GAME 1: Arkansas Tech 15, Delta State 1 (5 inn.)
Arkansas Tech used a nine-run third inning to break open the opener and never looked back, powered by a dominant offensive performance from Anna Winkfield, who drove in eight runs on three hits, including a pair of home runs.

Delta State's lone run came in the fourth when Hallie Turner scored on a wild pitch after reaching with a single and advancing on a walk.

GAME 2: Arkansas Tech 7, Delta State 1

The nightcap remained tight through four innings before Arkansas Tech broke through with a two-run homer in the fifth and a five-run seventh to pull away.

Delta State generated seven hits, including multi-hit efforts from Kyleigh Wheaton and Laney Daigrepont, but stranded five runners. The Lady Statesmen broke up the shutout in the seventh when Joryie McKnight stole home as
part of a double-steal.
