MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Delta State University baseball team completed series sweep with a Saturday doubleheader sweep over Auburn Montgomery, taking Game 1, 11-5, before holding off a late rally in Game 2 for a 14-11 victory at the AUM Baseball Complex.
The Statesmen improved to 26-16 overall and 19-11 in Gulf South Conference play, moving them to third place with the pair of wins, while AUM fell to 11-34 overall and 6-24 in league action.

Delta State struck early in the opener with a five-run first inning and never looked back.
Levi Lang highlighted the frame with a three-run home run to left center, scoring
Landon Holliman and
Tucker Jones for an early 3-0 lead.
Cade Greer added a sacrifice fly before
Austin Estes doubled home
Austin Batts to make it 5-0.
Lang finished Game 1 with a huge offensive performance, going 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs. Estes matched him with a 3-for-4 outing and drove in five runs, including a three-run insurance hit in the ninth inning that pushed the lead to 11-4.
Blake King earned the win on the mound after tossing six innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on 10 hits while striking out two.
Ryan Herbison closed the final three innings for his first save of the season.
AUM chipped away throughout the middle innings, cutting the deficit to 6-4 by the sixth, but Delta State answered with runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth to secure the series-clinching win.

The Statesmen exploded even earlier in the nightcap, plating 10 runs in the first inning in a wild 14-11 victory.
Delta State sent 15 batters to the plate in the opening frame, highlighted by
Levi Lang's RBI double,
Cade Greer's RBI single,
Austin Batts' two-run triple and a three-run triple from Lang later in the inning. The Statesmen added another run on a wild pitch to take a commanding 10-0 lead after the top of the first.
Lang once again led the offense, finishing 3-for-4 with four RBIs, while Batts went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and
Henley Parker added a solo home run in the fourth inning. Delta State totaled 12 hits and drew seven walks in the nightcap.
AUM refused to go away, scoring three in the fifth and six in the sixth to trim the lead to 14-11, but
Dawson Muenzenmay shut the door in the seventh with two strikeouts to record his fifth save of the season.
Aidan McCrady picked up the win in relief for Delta State, throwing 2.2 scoreless innings after starter
Mason Shropshire worked the opening 1.1 innings.
Across both games, Lang combined to go 6-for-9 with three home runs and eight RBIs, leading an explosive Statesmen offense that scored 25 runs on the day.
Delta State will be back in action this upcoming Tuesday with a non-conference game at Harding University. First Pitch on Tuesday is set for 5:00 p.m. (CT).
