CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University baseball team debuted at no. 5 in the NCAA Division II South Region Rankings announced this morning.
 
The Statesmen are one of seven teams in the Gulf South Conference announced in the South region rankings.
 
Joining the Statesmen are West Florida (35-13), West Alabama (32-13), Mississippi College (27-22), Lee University (34-15), Trevecca Nazarene (30-19) and Montevallo (27-23). The remaining three schools are from the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) in Tampa (35-7), Rollins (30-12), and Florida Southern (24-18).
 
Following the completion of the two conference tournaments and the regular season for the SSC, the top eight teams in the South Region will be announced and partake in the 2026 NCAA Division II National Tournament.
