Cleveland, Miss. - The Delta State University baseball team (21-15, 14-10 GSC) will travel to the Music City this weekend for a big Gulf South Conference series.
The Statesmen will play the Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene (27-12, 17-7 GSC) starting Friday at 5:00 PM. Games two and three will be played in a doubleheader starting at noon on Saturday.

Scouting the Statesmen:
- The Statesmen look to keep momentum rolling from a midweek thriller win over the top team in the GAC in Arkansas-Monticello on a Tucker Jones two-run walk-off double in the 12th inning.
- This will mark the first time in program history that Delta State Travels to Nashville to take on the Trojans from Trevecca Nazarene University. In the series history between the two teams, Delta State is 3-1 against TNU and is 2-1 in conference play since the Trojans joined the Gulf South Conference in the 2024-25 season.
- Jones is leading the Statesmen in several offensive categories. The Brandon native hitting .374 with 17 extra-base hits and 50 RBIs. He currently leads the Gulf South Conference on the basepaths going 24-24 on stolen bases.
- In the win over the Boll Weevils Tuesday night, Levi Lang was the other Statesmen that had a multi-hit evening. Lang launched his fifth home run of the season over the left field fence to tie the game up at three in the third inning.
- Junior transfer Landon Holliman has done a good job as a lead off hitter for the Statesmen. In the month of march, the Hattiesburg native reached base in every game he was in the starting lineup for nine games played in March.
- Adrian Byrd is coming off a great start vs. Montevallo, in which he had 12 Ks. He posts a 2.24 ERA with 64 strikeouts and 16 walks in 56 innings.
Scouting the Trojans:
- Trevecca Enters this weekend in second place in the Gulf South Conference with a 17-7 record in the GSC. The Trojans enter this weekend on a two-game winning streak after an extra inning win on the road at Carson-Newman Tuesday afternoon.
- Cade Martin leads the Trojans at the plate. He is hitting .408 with 11 home runs and 31 RBIs this year.
- Cade Moore has been a big help to Martin. He is hitting .333 with 16 extra-base hits and 32 RBIs.
- Logan Harrell has been a great arm on the mound for the Trojans. He posts a 2.97 ERA with 65 strikeouts and 14 walks in 60 innings pitched.
