CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Baseball Team (31-21) travels to Pensacola, Florida, this week for the South Region tournament! Here is a handy guide of all the information you need to cheer on the Statesmen!
The Statesmen will play in a four-team double elimination bracket with the University of West Florida, Lee University and Edward Waters University.
The winner of the four-team bracket will play in a best of three Super Regional Championship series with the Tampa Regional which consists of the University of Tampa, Rollins College, the University of West Alabama, and Trevecca Nazarene University.

THE TEAMS
#4 Delta State
The Statesmen are making their 38
th appearance in the NCAA Division II Baseball Tournament after reaching the Gulf South Conference Championship tournament final.
This will be the first trip to Pensacola for Delta State since the 2021 regional where they faced West Florida and Tampa. The Statesmen are looking to make their second Super Regional Appearance, first since 2019 when they went to Tampa. Delta State is looking to make their 13
th appearance in the College World Series with 12 Regional Championships (three south region championships). The Statesmen have a National Championship won in the 2004 season where they had their program best 54 wins.
#5 Lee
Lee is making their first appearance in the regional since 2024 and their third appearance in program history, since joining the NCAA in the year 2015. The Flames hold a 36-17 overall record this season and earned the two-seed in the Gulf South Conference tournament. This doesn't mark the first time the Flames played in a region hosted by West Florida. Lee went 2-2 in the 2021 regional in Pensacola. The 5:00 p.m. (CT), matchup between the Flames and Statesmen marks the third time they will clash in the postseason The series is 1-1 as the Flames opened with a 9-4 win against DSU. Two days later, the Flames were eliminated GSC tournament with a 5-4 loss to the Statesmen.
#1 West Florida
The Argonauts are entering the NCAA Division II Baseball South Regional Tournament as the no. 1 seed and will host a Regional tournament for the first time since the 2023 season where they went 2-2. West Florida won the Gulf South Conference Championship Tournament earning an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Championship Tournament. Their matchup with Edward Waters marks the first time in the history of each program that they will meet.
#8 Edward Waters
For the first time in the NCAA Division II era and the first national postseason appearance since 2011, the Edward Waters University baseball team is headed to the NCAA Division II South Regional Tournament. Fresh off capturing the 2026 SIAC Baseball Tournament Championship, the Tigers are the only team in the regional representing the SIAC and the only non-GSC team in the Pensacola pod.
