LAKELAND, Fla. – Delta State University baseball's Left-Handed pitcher
Adrian Byrd is the 2026 Division 2 Conference Commissioner's South Region Pitcher of the Year announced this morning.

Tucker Jones both earned first team All-South Region honors.
Byrd, the Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Year has one of the lowest ERA's in the nation with a 1.52 in 100.2 innings pitched. The Wiggins native has entered the top five in Delta State program history with 113 strikeouts in a season and has only allowed 26 walks.
Byrd is the first Statesmen to earn Regional Pitcher of the Year since Tre Hobbs earned the honors in 2016.
Jones earned first team All-South Region honors after leading the Statesmen with a .366 batting average with 11 doubles with 63 runs driven in. The Brandon native led the Gulf South Conference with 31 stolen bags on 31 attempts.
The Statesmen take on the Tigers from Edward Waters University this afternoon in an elimination game at 1:00 p.m. (CT).
