CLEVELAND, Miss. – The fall competition schedules have been announced for the four fall sports teams for the 2026-27 season.
 
Football
The 2026 campaign will start with a new head coach for the Statesmen football program. Delta State will have four home games and five road contests. The Statesmen start their 2026 season on the road as they head to Tahlequah, Okla., for the first time in program history to take on the Riverhawks from Northeastern State University on Saturday, August 29^th at noon. The following week, DSU will return home for the 41^st annual Pig Pickin' on Saturday Sept. 5 as they take on Wingate University at 6 p.m. After Pig Pickin', the Green and White will go on back-to-back road trips starting with a trip to Warrensburg, Mo., on Saturday Sept. 12 to take on the Mules from Central Missouri. The two-game road trip will conclude with the eighth Delta Classic as the Statesmen will head to Itta Bena to take on Mississippi Valley State on Sept. 19 at 6:00 p.m. DSU will have a bye week before returning to Parker McCool to take on a former GSC foe in the Hawks from Shorter University on October 3^rd at 6:00 p.m. Two weeks later, DSU will make their first trip to the State of Virginia since 1982 to take on the Panthers from Ferrum College on Oct. 17. Following the long road trip, DSU will return to Parker McCool for Homecoming on Oct. 24 as they open GSC play with the Tigers from West Alabama at 4:00 p.m. Following homecoming weekend, DSU will make their longest road trip of the year on Halloween weekend as they head to the state of Maryland to take on the Bobcats from Frostburg State. Two weeks after the long road trip, the Statesmen will close out the regular season at Parker McCool on Saturday November 14^th against the Blazers from Valdosta State University at 1:00 p.m.
 
Women's Soccer
The Lady Statesmen Soccer schedule features five home conference matches at 1:00 p.m. with 11 matches on the road. The Green and White kick off their 2026 season with five straight matches on the road at Saint Leo, (Aug. 27), Eckerd (Aug.29), McKendree (Sept. 1), Jackson State (Sept.7), and their conference opener against Valdosta State (Sept. 12). Delta State will have their home opener on Wednesday, Sept. 16 as they will host the Lady Bulldogs from Union at 1:00 p.m. Later that week, DSU will take on the Chargers from UAH on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 1:00 p.m. A week after their home contest with UAH, the Lady Statesmen will take on the Falcons from Montevallo on Saturday Sept. 26. After a two-game road stretch lasting two weeks, DSU will return home for Senior Day on Saturday, October 10 against Auburn Montgomery. Four days later, Delta State will host in-state rival Mississippi Christian on Oct. 14 for the regular season home finale. The Lady Statesmen will hit the road in conference play against West Alabama, Trevecca Nazarene, Christian Brothers, Spring Hill and Lee.
 
Men's Soccer
The Delta State Statesmen Soccer program will have an even eight home matches and eight matches on the road for their 2026 season. The Statesmen open the season with three-straight road contests in the Natural State against Harding (Aug. 27), Central Baptist (Aug. 29) and Ouachita Baptist (Sept.1). Delta State will have their home opener on Pig Pickin' weekend with a two-match slate with Florida Southern on Friday, Sept. 4, at 3:30 p.m. and Eckerd on Sunday Sept. 6 at 11:00 a.m. The Statesmen will wrap up their non-conference slate with Christian Brothers coming to town on Wednesday, Sept. 9 before opening conference play at home against Union (Sept. 16) and UAH (Sept 19). The Statesmen will have their Senior Day on Saturday, Sept. 26 as they take on Montevallo. The final two home contests come against Auburn-Montgomery on Saturday, October 10 and Mississippi Christian on Wednesday, October 14. The Statesmen will hit the road in conference play against West Alabama, Trevecca Nazarene, Christian Brothers, Spring Hill and Lee.

Women's Cross Country
The Lady Statesmen Cross Country team will compete in five regular season meets in the 2026 season, competing at hosts Mississippi Christian (Sept. 4 and Oct. 16), Rhodes College (Sept. 19), Blue Mountain (Sept. 26), and Christian Brothers (Oct. 3). The GSC Championships will take place at the Vaughn's Gap Cross Country Course in Nashville, Tenn.
