BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Delta State University Football's Jordan McKnight has earned Gulf South Conference weekly honors announced this morning by the conference office. 

McKnight has earned the Gulf South Conference Special Teams Player of the week.  

The Shelby, Miss., native scooped up a blocked punt and took it 12-yards for a touchdown to spark the Statesmen football team to their 21-6 win against Mississippi Valley State Saturday evening in Itta Bena. 

McKnight also had time on the defensive side of the field where he had an assisted TFL in the win. 

The Statesmen will take this into the bye week as they will come back with a home game against Shorter University on Saturday, October 3rd from Travis Parker Field at Horace McCool Stadium.
