BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Delta State University Women's Soccer's Avery Hooker and Kim Bircher earned Gulf South Conference Weekly Honors announced by the conference office this morning.
 
Hooker earned Gulf South Conference Player of the Week while Bircher earned Gulf South Conference Goalkeeper of the Week.
 
Hooker led the Lady Statesmen in their 6-1 win over UAH this past Saturday at Delta Field. The Tupelo native tacked in two goals, scoring the most in a game in her Lady Statesmen career.
 
Bircher had a solid week in goal for the Green and White. The senior keeper played in 180 minutes where she had 18 saves and held a 1-0-1 record. Her 14 saves against Union last Wednesday is the fifth most by any Lady Statesmen keeper in a game in program history.
 
The Lady Statesmen are back in action tomorrow evening as they will hit the road to Livingston, Ala., to take on the Tigers of the University of West Alabama.
