2017 (Junior): Helped the Statesmen finish 45-13 and 25-8 in the GSC, winning their 14^th GSC title and 12^th NCAA Regional Championship while making their 12^th NCAA Division II College World Series appearance…pitched in eight games including three starts…went 3-0 with an 8.83 ERA, 11 strikeouts and 20 walks…yielded 19 runs, 17 earned, on 15 hits in 17.1 innings pitched…opponents hit .238…made starts against Arkansas Tech (3.8), Ouachita Baptist (4.4) and Mississippi Valley State (4.18)…pitched a season-high five innings with three strikeouts to earn the win against Mississippi Valley State (4.18)…struck out three against Arkansas Tech (3.8)...tossed three scoreless innings with three strikeouts and allowed four hits against Ouachita Baptist (4.4)…

JUCO (2016):  Played for Coach Mackey Sasser at Wallace State Community College in Dothan, Ala…posted a 7-3 record with a .233 ERA on the mound and hit .363 with four home runs and 13 doubles in 2016.
 
OLE MISS (2015):  Pitched one season for Coach Mike Bianco at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Miss…made six appearances with a 3.03 ERA…listed on the All-SEC honor roll.
 
PREP: Attended Christian Brothers High School where he lettered four years while playing for head coach Buster Kelso…won a state championship in 2011 and 2013…named to the All-State team and Best of Preps in 2013 and 2014… was the TBCA Player of the Year in 2013… an All-Metro selection in 2012, 2013 and 2014…went 7-2 with two saves and a 2.50 ERA as a senior, striking out 82 batters in 60 innings…for his career, he went 25-13 with four saves, fanning 285 in 234 innings…at the plate during his senior year he hit .380 with two home runs, 38 RBIs, eight doubles and four triples….also lettered one year in basketball.
 
PERSONAL:  John Wesley Ray… son of Johnny and Leah Ray…has one older sister, Alexis…father played for the Cincinnati Reds…majoring in criminal justice.
