2019 (SOPHOMORE): Played in two games at a defensive back and on special teams…played at nationally-ranked Grand Valley State (9.14) and against West Alabama (10.19)…the Statesmen defense led the GSC in total defense (309.2 ypg.), rush defense (122.0 ypg.) and sacks per game (2.70).

2018 (SOPHOMORE): Played in two games before a season-ending injury...recorded two tackles and one pass break-up.

2017 (FRESHMAN): Played in 10 games for the Statesmen at defensive back...helped the Statesmen to a 9-4 overall record and a second round appearance in the NCAA Division II Football Championship Playoff...recorded three tackles on the year...primarily used on special teams.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played wide receiver and safety for Coach William Rogers at Creekside High School in Fairburn, Ga...lettered football and track and field...had 212 kick off return yards and four punt return yards for 216 yards and a 21.6 average per return...had 38 tackles, 22 solo stops...recorded one sack, three interceptions and three pass deflections his senior year....set the Creekside record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.53.

PERSONAL: Shannon Carter...son of Steve and Vanessa Carter...has one brother, Stephen...majoring in sports management.
