Biography

2019 (RS SENIOR): Played in nine games, starting the final seven at quarterback after a season-ending injury to Patrick Shegog…the Statesmen finished 6-4 overall and 5-3 in the GSC…the Statesmen offense ranked third in the GSC with 197.9 yards per game rushing, 159.5 yards passing per game, 357.4 total yards and 22.8 points per game…third on the team with 93 rushes for 485 yards and three touchdowns…completed 158-of-237 passes for 1,155 yards with seven interceptions and five touchdowns…ranked second in the GSC and sixth in the NCAA completing 66.7 percent of his pass attempts…finished fourth in the GSC with 17.5 completions per game and ranked sixth in total offense (183.3 ypg.)…ranked seventh in the GSC in passing yards (1,155), passing yards per game (128.3), yards per completion (7.31) and passing efficiency (108.7)...ranked ninth in the GSC with 55 yards per game on the ground.

2018 (RS JUNIOR): Played in two games for the Statesmen, making two starts at quarterback...season cut short due to an injury versus Grand Valley State...completed 21-of-39 passes for 189 yards and an interception...rushed for 38 yards on 12 carries...threw for 180 yards while completing 20-of-38 passes at Tarleton State in the season-opener.

2017 (JUNIOR): Played in 13 games for the Statesmen, making 12 starts at quarterback...helped the Statesmen to a 9-4 overall record and a second round appearance in the NCAA Division II Football Championship Playoff...completed 156-of-278 passes for 1,422 yards with 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions...rushed 167 times for 778 yards and seven touchdowns...averaged 4.7 yards per rush...led all GSC quarterbacks in rush yardage...career-high 164 yards rushing with two touchdowns in DSU's 45-35 victory at Bowie State in the First Round of the NCAA Division II playoffs...career-best 272 yards passing with three touchdowns at Shorter.

MISSOURI STATE: Redshirted due to injury in 2016...2015: Made his MSU debut in season opener at Memphis (9/5/15), his hometown…drew the start in week a two win over Chadron State (9/12/15) at Plaster Stadium…finished 14-for-24 for 101 yards in Memphis game with no interceptions and his first career TD pass…was 19-for-34 for 128 yards - all season highs - in Chadron game with his second TD of the year…also rushed for season-high 69 yards in Chadron game with a 55-yard touchdown scamper…carried 7 times for 57 yards against Illinois State (10/17/15) with a long rush of 32…season-long completion of 59 yards came at Southern Illinois (10/10/15)...threw for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Maroon and White Spring Game (4/11/15) on 13-of-22 passing with no interceptions...spring game scores included a 75-yard strike to Malik Earl and a 12-yard pass to Eric Christophel...2014: Redshirted his first season at Missouri State...named MSU Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week for game at No. 9 Illinois State (10/25/14)...named to MSU Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for spring 2015 semester.

HIGH SCHOOL The pro-style QB was named by the Memphis Commercial Appeal as one of the top 40 Division I prospects in the west Tennessee and north Mississippi region after his senior year at Christian Brothers College (CBC) High in Memphis...was a two-time all-district performer for Coach Rob Vogel...earned Max Preps Player of the Week honors once and earned the FBU Top Gun Award three times for the Purple Waves..threw for 934 yards and 6 touchdowns while compiling more than 1,300 yards of total offense...also earned all-state baseball honors three times and finished third in the state meet in the 200-meter dash as a junior.

PERSONAL: Breckenridge Collins Ruddick...son of Pat and LeAnn Ruddick of Marion, Ark....has two sisters, Aspen and Linley...father played football and track at Harding University...majoring in sports management.
