Andy Rincker enters his seventh season as an assistant under head coach Rodney Batts, working with Delta State's pitching staff. Rincker comes to Cleveland with a wealth of coaching experience, most recently as an assistant at NCAA Division III Greenville University in Greenville, Ill.
In the 2023 season, Rincker’s pitching staff were dominant, posting a 5.23 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP. The team has a 26-25 record, with a 189-53 record in innings pitched. The pitching staff has been led by a number of strong arms, including Kameron Koch, who has a 4.37 ERA and a 1.56 WHIP. The team has also received strong performances from Jordan Duke, Lacey Steven, and Cromer Logan. The pitching staff has been a key factor in the team's success this season.
Rincker’s pitching staff dominated the 2022 season, posting a 32-17 record and a 20-7 conference record. The staff was led by Harrison Haley, who went 10-2 with a 4.24 ERA and 1.21 WHIP. Haley also led the team in strikeouts with 68.
The pitching staff was also strong in conference play, posting a 20-7 record. The staff was led by Landon Zizmann, who went 8-3 with a 4.99 ERA and 1.51 WHIP. Zizmann also led the team in strikeouts with 52.
Rincker, who will serve as Delta State’s pitching coach, managed Greenville’s pitching staff and was responsible for recruiting since graduating from the school in 2009. He also served as an Admissions Coordinator for the school.
Rincker helped coach Greenville to a pair of St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) championships in 2015 and 2017, and appearances in an NCAA Regional in each of those years as well.
Under Rincker’s leadership, the Panthers posted a 74-34 SLIAC record in the last five seasons alone, including a pair of Eastern division titles in 2015 and 2017. The Panthers also won the SLIAC tournament in those same years, and he coached 14 All-Conference pitchers.
He was also part of the staff of the first 30-win team in Greenville University history, when the Panthers went 30-17, including a 16-6 mark in conference action, before winning the conference tournament and making an NCAA regional appearance.
Rincker also coached the Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2010, Matt Leefers. Leefers posted an 8-4 overall record with a 2.31 ERA in 14 appearances and 12 starts. Leefers had six complete games and struck out 53 in 78 innings that season. He also posted a 5-2 record and a meager 1.05 ERA in league play, helping the Panthers to 28-14 record and an 18-6 mark in SLIAC competition.
Rincker has also spent time as a baseball camp instructor at Mississippi State and Auburn over the past six years, where he managed and organized camps and aided in the management of 150 youth baseball players.
In addition, Rincker was a head coach in the Lewis and Clark Summer League and a pitching instructor at Back 2 Back Training. Rincker’s other stops include a stint as a coach for the Vandalia (Ill.) Summer Legion program and the pitching coach at Mac-N-Seitz A’s Baseball facility.
Rincker holds a Bachelor’s degree in physical education and a Master’s in science of management practices, both from Greenville University and is married to Kristen Rincker.
