Klaiton Wolff is in his first season as a graduate assistant coach on the Delta State University Statesmen baseball staff.
Wolff comes to the Delta after graduating from Greenville University in Chicago, Illinois, where he was a pitcher and infielder for the Panthers from 2017-2020 under DSU current assistant coach Andy Rincker.
The Altamont, Ill., native was the Panthers’ closer during his first three seasons, registering a 4-2 mark with 18 saves along with 53 strikeouts against 22 walks over 56 innings of work.
As a freshman in 2017, Wolff recorded a conference-high nine saves, 24 strikeouts, and a 2.52 ERA. He earned Second-Team All-SLIAC and SLICAC All-Tournament honors and was named D3baseballcom All-Central Region Rookie of the Year.Â
Wolff notched one save with 14 strikeouts in his sophomore campaign and was named Third-Team All-SLIAC selecting. He had eight saves, earning All-SLIAC Second-Team, GU’s Defensive MVP, and overall MVP honors as a junior.
Wolf moved into a starting role in 2020, notching 22 strikeouts against seven walks in 23 innings pitched before the season ended due COVID-19.Â
Wolff finished his Panther career with a 4-5 record and 18 saves in 46 appearances (four starts). Wolf yielded 37 runs on 83 hits with 75 strikeouts against 29 walks in 79 career innings pitched.
Wolff is seeking a master’s degree in sports management from Delta State.
