Matt Barrett is in his first season as a graduate assistant with the Delta State University baseball program working with the outfielders.
The Nashville, Tenn., native played four seasons as a catcher for the Statesmen, playing in 81 games with 51 starts. Barrett finished his career hitting .250 with 10 doubles, six home runs and 38 RBIs. In 2015, Barrett hit .327 with five home runs and 22 RBIs while playing in 35 games with 25 starts at catcher/designated hitter.
Barrett graduated from Delta State in May, 2016 with a degree in exercise science and is currently seeking a Master's degree in sports management.
