2019 GSC Fall Academic Honor Roll
 
2019 (SENIOR): Played in four games with one start on the offensive line…the Statesmen finished 6-4 overall and 5-3 in the GSC… the Statesmen offense that ranked third in the GSC with 197.9 yards per game rushing, 159.5 yards passing per game, 357.4 total yards and 22.8 points per game…the offensive line also paved the way for Rico Owens rank second in the GSC with 70.1 rushing yards per game and 6.51 yards per carry…drew his lone start in the season opener against Tusculum (9.5).

2018 (JUNIOR): Played in all 10 games for the Statesmen on the offensive line, making nine starts...graded at 86 percent on the season with 44 devastation blocks.

JUCO: Played two seasons on the offensive line for coach Tucker Peavy at Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit, Mississippi..2016 NJCAA Academic All-American..2017 MACJC All-Academic.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Magnolia Heights Academy…2014 MAIS Second Team All-State on the offensive and defensive line...2015 MAIS First-Team as an offensive and defensive lineman...2015 MAIS All-Star selection...lettered in football, baseball, and track and field.
 
PERSONAL: Joseph "Grant" Short...son of Jeff and Melanie Short...has one brother, Garrett Short...majoring in business.
