Philip Loyd, M.S., ATC, enters his first season with Delta State University Athletics as an assistant athletic trainer.
Loyd serves as the primary athletic trainer for Statesman baseball and assistants the daily operations of the athletic training facility.
The Fort Smith, Ark., native, came to Delta State having most recently served as an assistant athletic trainer at Bethel University, where he provided athletic training coverage for Wildcat men’s soccer and Wildcat men’s basketball.
Prior to Bethel, Loyd, served as an assistant athletic trainer at Hendrix College. He served as the primary athletic trainer for both Warriors and Lady Warriors basketball and Warrior baseball while spending one season as the secondary athletic trainer for Warrior football.
Before Hendrix College he served as the Head Athletic Trainer of Arkansas High School. As the first athletic trainer he transformed Arkansas High Athletic Training from a department with the bare essentials to a fully functioning department in addition to building a fully functioning Athletic Training Education Program with a complete Athletic Training Lab.
He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in athletic training in 2017 from Southern Arkansas University.
Loyd currently resides in Cleveland with his dog, Roxas.
