Alan Larson begins his first season with the Delta State University men's golf team as a graduate assistant coach.
Larson is no stranger to the Statesmen golf program after spending two seasons from 2015-17 in the Delta. The Oxford, Miss., native competed in nine tournaments in 2016-17, finishing 18th at the UIS Island Getaway. Larson posted a 79.39 scoring average over 24 rounds with one round of par or better after redshirting the 2015-16 season
Prior to Delta State, Larson golfed for Guy Purdy at Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia, Miss. While there, he finished tied for fourth in the 2014 NJCAA Region 23 Tournament while helping the Chiefs to a pair of Top 5 team finishes in postseason play (fourth at the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament and fifth in the MACJCÂ tournament in 2014).

Larson prepped under Dan Werner and Dennis King at North Delta School in Batesville, Miss., where he helped the Green Wave to back-to-back north half championships in 2010 and 2011.
