Alie Maxwell

Alie Maxwell promoted is in his second season as interim head coach replacing Sam Dunning, who was named Assistant to the Athletic Director for Special Projects following 25 highly successful seasons at the helm.
 
Maxwell served as a graduate assistant/assistant coach under Dunning for the four years before getting promoted after coming to Delta State in 2011.  Maxwell has been responsible for organizing practices, tournament qualifying rounds, player development and player academics.
 
In 2015, DSU won a school-record three team titles and finished third at the Gulf South Conference Tournament. Reed Lindsey, Chad Cupples and Alex Clark claimed individual titles, while Lindsey was selected to play in the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional. The Statesmen finished runner-up at the 2014 GSC Tournament and qualified for the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional and NCAA Championships. During Maxwell's tenure, the Statesmen have captured seven team titles, four players were named All-Gulf South Conference, three earned GSC All-Tournament Team honors and 10 players were All-Tournament performers. 
 
Maxwell played golf for Warner University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in business management in December 2011.  The Seaforth, Ontario, Canada, native received a master's degree in human resource management and computer information systems from Delta State in December 2014.
