Delta State University Athletics has announced the hiring of Isaac Samples as the new head coach for the men's golf program.
"I couldn't be more honored to be here and equally as appreciative of the opportunity that Coach Kinnison has given me to lead such a storied program here at Delta State where champions play." Coach Samples said, "I am ready to get to work."
Samples comes to Cleveland after taking the role of the assistant men's and women's golf coach at Charleston Southern University for the 2023-24 season. During his time at Charleston Southern, Samples helped lead the women's golf program to a Big South Conference Championship and an NCAA regional berth in the 2024 spring season.
Before his time at Charleston Southern, Samples served as the intern for the head golf coach at Georgia College in 2023. Under the leadership of Jimmy Wilson, Samples created plans and managed all things related to the Bobcats golf team.
Before his coaching career, Samples played five years at Georgia College from 2018-23. As a Bobcat, Samples ranked as high as 43rd in the individual DII Golfstat Rankings as he played in 111 rounds with an average score of 74.9, had four top ten finishes and 15 top 25 finishes.
