2019 GSC Spring Academic Honor Roll

2019-20 (SENIOR): Played in all five events before the remainder of the spring schedule was canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic…carried a 71.00 stroke average over 18 rounds…posted three top-five finishes…took home second at the Darrell Foreman Invitational (10.7-8), firing a season-low 10-under, 206 (67-73-66)…grabbed fourth place at the NCAA DII National Preview (10.16-17) with a three-213 (72-71-7)…placed fifth at the Mississippi College Invitational (3.2-3) with a six-under, 201 (71-70-69)…recorded a low round of 66 at the Derrall Foreman Invitational…carded 12 of his 18 rounds at par or better with four rounds in the 60s.

2018-19 (JUNIOR): Played in eight tournaments, posting a 72.87 scoring average over 23 rounds...finished second at the Derrall Foreman Invitational with a six-under, 210...scored nine rounds of par or better...posted three rounds in the 60s that included a season-low round of 67 at the Buccaneer Spring Classic...shot a 69 in the second round of the Murray State Invitational and in the third round of the Derrall Foreman invitational...season-best 54-hole total was a 210 at the Derrall Foreman Invitational...finished 16th at the 2019 GSC Men's Golf Championship at the Magnolia Course on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Mobile, Ala., with a seven-over, 223...had a 439-194 individual head to head record in nine tournaments. 

JUCO: Transferred to Delta State from Copiah Lincoln Community College in Wesson, Miss...earned several All-Tournament honors during his two seasons with Co-Lin...captured top medalist honors once...Second-Team All-State two times...played for coach Ronny Ross.

HIGH SCHOOL: Payed for Coach Greg Perry at Germantown High School in Madison, Miss...helped GHS to state titles in 2014, 2015, 2016...second place medalists at the MHSAA state championships in 2016...top medalists in one tournament...four-year A-B Honor Roll member.

PERSONAL: Zachary "Zach" Smith...born in Brookhaven, Miss...son of Cameron and Candice Smith...has one sister, Allie...majoring in business.
