Delta State University

Juan C. Somoza Sabates' enters his second year as a graduate assistant on the Delta State University Swimming and Diving staff. Sebates' joined the staff for the 2019-20 season after graduating from King University.

Sabates' left King owning five individual school records at King University while earning First-Team All-Conference of the Carolinas in the 200-yard individual medley. He also was Second-team All-Conference of the Carolinas in the 400 individual medley, 800 freestyle relay, and 200 medley relays and Third team All-Conference of the Carolinas in the 400 medley relay. Sabates' captured the conference title with a school-record 200-yard individual medley time of 1:52.66 and earned Academic All-Conference of the Carolinas in the classroom. 

Sabates' is seeking a Master's degree in sports management from Delta State.
