Philip Tang enters his ninth year as an assistant in the Office of Athletic Communications at Delta State. The Director of Media Services for First Baptist Church of Cleveland, Miss., Tang will continue to assist with the coordination of broadcasts and video streaming, while lending his voice to the Statesmen Sports Network.
Tang joined Delta State from Union University in Jackson, Tenn. He graduated from Delta State with a master's degree in sports administration in 2015 after serving the past two years as the coordinator of broadcasting and video streaming.
Tang has worked with men's and women's soccer, men’s and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming, softball, cheerleading and golf at DSU.
He spent four years working in Union University’s Sports Information Department primarily as a radio broadcaster and statistician. He also was a lead color commentator for Union’s TV basketball broadcast for three years. He was behind the microphone for three NAIA women’s national basketball championships.
Tang had worked as a video technician for EPLUS TV-6 in Jackson, Tenn. He also has been behind the microphone for over 600 high school and college sporting events in West Tennessee.
Tang graduated from Union University in May 2012 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
