FRESHMAN (2017): Placed 32nd overall in her first race for the green-and-white in the Mississippi College Invitational (4K)…Helped the Lady Statesmen to a 3rd place team finish, turning in a time of 19:32 and a 30th place finish in the University of Central Arkansas Challenge (5K)…Recorded one of her best efforts of the season, finishing 53rd overall in 20:35 at the Trevecca Nazarenne University DII showcase…Sumner was the third DSU scorer, finishing 20th with a time of 25:09 in the Mississippi College Watson Ford Invite (6K)…Lowered her personal best time by 13 seconds recording a time of 20:08 for 57th overall in the GSC championships (5K)…Clocked in at 25:16.81 at NCAA DII South Regional meet (6K) taking 92nd place overall.

HIGH SCHOOL: Ran cross country for coach Charles Covington...Finished fifth place overall at the state meet this year with a time of 20 minutes, 34 seconds as a key membe of Saltillo's state title team...Garnered Most Valuable Runner honors in 2015 and Most Dependable Runner honors in 2016...Also selected as a Daily Journal Fall Sports Athlete in 2016...Member of State Championship teams in 2013, 2015 and 2016...Four time All-Region runner and two-time All-State performer...Recognized for achieving the Martha and Everett Swann Memorial Scholarship and the Mississippi Law Enforcement Association Bill Martin Scholarship.
