Abby Havard

Abby Havard, M.S., ATC, enters her ninth season with Delta State Athletics, and her fourth season as Assistant Athletic Director for Health and Sports performance after serving as Assistant Athletic Trainer.
 
Havard, who has served as the primary athletic trainer for Lady Statesman softball and Statesman football, directs the daily operations of the Athletic Training program and Sports Medicine wings of the Athletic Department. Her duties include staff retention and development, oversight of every sports training program and methods, implementation of DSU's Drug-Testing and Enforcement policies and procedures, and DSU's student-athlete insurance program.
 
The Meridian, Miss., native, came to Delta State having most recently served as an independent contractor for Mississippi Sports Medicine's Hattiesburg Clinic, where she provided emergency coverage for local high school and area sporting events.
 
Prior to that, Havard served as assistant athletic trainer for women's soccer at the University of Southern Mississippi.

She received her Bachelor of Science in athletic training in 2011, and her Master of Science in sports management in 2013, both from the University of Southern Mississippi. 
 
An accomplished student in the classroom, Havard was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the Honors College of the University of Southern Mississippi, President's Scholar, President's List, Dean's List, and Mississippi Eminent Scholar.

Havard graduated Valedictorian at Southeast Lauderdale High School in 2007.
