CLEVELAND - With the release of Wednesday's NCAA South Region Rankings, the Delta State University Lady Statesmen and Statesmen saw little change among their standings among the region's top 10 teams.
The Lady Statesmen, ranked No. 12 nationally, remained third in this week's poll behind Fort Valley State and Arkansas Tech. Tampa remained fourth followed by Rollins in the top five. Valdosta State was sixth with Barry, Florida Southern, Kentucky State and Benedict rounding out the poll. Complete rankings are below.
After dropping a 68-55 decision at Christian Brothers last Saturday, the Statesmen slid one spot to sixth in this week's poll. Saturday's opponent Arkansas Tech, ranked No. 1 nationally, remained first followed by Valdosta State, Florida Southern, Clark Atlanta and Rollins in the top five. Complete rankings are listed below.
The top eight teams in the final regional rankings on March 7 advance to the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's South Region Basketball Tournament. Tournament locations will determined by the order of seeding in the final poll.
