Colton Mitchell has been named the Gostatesmen.com Male Athlete of the Week

Mitchell pitched the first perfect game in Statesmen history on April 14, 2012, a 4-0 victory over New Orleans at Ferriss Field. The perfect game came on the 50th anniversary of the first Delta State no-hitter as well thrown by A.C. Williams on April 14, 1962.  

MItchell pitched 7 perfect innings, did not walk a batter, and struck out 7.
