Charlotte Benson, a junior midfielder for the Lady Statesmen Soccer team, has been named the GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Tuesday, Sept. 4 after leading Delta State to a 2-1 victory over Belhaven University in the season opener for the Green-and-White.  

The London, England native, who has received three weekly honors all-time, pounded home the game-winning goal in the 78' at Belhaven on Tuesday.  She made the most of her one shot in the game, as her strike found the back of the net for the win from 15 yards out.
