Michelle Laurenzi, a senior for the Lady Statesmen Soccer program, was named the GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday, Oct. 29 after scoring two goals in the final two matches of the season for Delta State. Â
In a 5-1 loss at North Alabama on Sunday, the highlight of the day for the Lady Statesmen came when senior captain Michelle Laurenzi scored in the 41st minute. Laurenzi finished out her career with goals in back-to-back games, after scoring Thursday at Millsaps.
The Orange County, Calif., native closed out her senior campaign with three goals on 22 shots. Â She finished the year with six total points from her midfielder position. Â
