Dani Meerholz, a sophomore on the Lady Statesmen Swimming & Diving team, has been named the GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week for period ending Monday, Dec, 31. Â It's the first honor of the season for Meerholz.
The Johannesburg, South Africa native was a part of three school record performances en route to Delta State's Christmas Invitational victory over Limestone College. Â Meerholz topped individual records in the 200-Free (1:50.95) and the 500-Free (4:56.55), while helping bring home the team record in the 400-Free Relay with a 3:31.58 on the final day of competition. Â
Meerholz and the Lady Statesmen will return to the pool on Jan. 11, 2013 versus the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Â The meet will begin at 5 p.m. at the DSU Aquatics Center. Â
