Karl-Richard Hennebach, a freshman on the Statesmen Swimming & Diving team, has been named the GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Monday, Dec. 31 after leading the Statesmen to the team victory at the DSU Christmas Invitational. Â Monday's honor is the second this season for Hennebach. Â
The Leipzig, Germany native helped lead the Statesmen to a tri-team meet victory over Limestone College and Missouri S&T University while establishing an amazing six school records. Â Henneback set Delta State individual records in the 50-Free (20.35), 100-Free (44.83), 100-Backstroke (48.80) and the 100-Butterfly (48.00), while helping claim two relay marks in the 200-Medley Relay (1:31.19) and the 400-Medley Relay (3:20.34). Â
Hennebach and the Statesmen will return to the pool on Jan. 11, 2013 versus the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Â The meet will get underway at 5 p.m. at the DSU Aquatics Center. Â
