Maria Torres, a senior from Peru, has been named DSU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for her work during a pair of dual meets against Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist.
Against HSU, Torres scored 24 total points, taking a pair of victories in the 1,000-Freestyle (10:40.17) and 200-Freestyle Relay (1:40.88) while finishing runner-up in the 500-Freestyle (5:09.34).
On the following day at OBU, Torres scored 22 points with wins in the 500-Freestyle (5:12.02) and 400-Freestyle Relay (3:41.34).
Torres sits atop the school record book in a pair of events; 1,650-Freestyle (17:06.05) and 400-Freestyle Relay (3:31.58).
