Freshman Devin Schimdt captures the GoStatesmen.com Male Student Athlete of the Week after leading the Statesmen to the first Gulf South Conference win of the year. He scored a career high 24 points and pulled down a career high in rebounds in the 65-63 win over Christian Brothers.
 
Schmidt has had a very fast start to his freshman year. He has started all nine games for the Statesmen. Averaging 12.4 points per game, Schmidt has scored 112 points for the Statesmen and grabbed 48 rebounds
