Chloe Bennett, a freshman from Jasper, Ala., helped lead the Lady Statesmen Swimming and Diving team to a dominating 169-41 victory over Ouachita Baptist University in a dual meet last Saturday at the DSU Aquatics Center.  Bennett's performance propelled her to this week's GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week Award, her first at DSU.

Bennett picked up wins for Delta State in the 50-Freestyle (24.82) and 100-Freestyle (53.41) while also swimming the final leg (1:48.87) of the winning 200-Medley Relay team.

The former Curry High School standout will lead the Lady Statesmen back into action this Friday in a tri-meet versus Henderson State University and the University of West Florida.  The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
