Matteo Fraschi picks up his first DSU Student Athlete of the Week Award for his efforts for Delta State Swimming from Pensacola, Fla., as the Statesmen defeated Birmingham-Southern, Thomas (Ga.), and LaGrange, in dual-meet action.
Fraschi set a pair of school records, first by breaking a year-old mark in the 100-Breaststroke (56.87) before eclipsing his own mark in the 200-Breaststroke (2:02.77). Fraschi has competed in two meets this season for DSU and has gone on to set the 200-Breaststroke record each time out.
Fraschi also picked up victories in the 200-Individual Medley (1:53.05), and also as a member of the 200-Medley Relay (1:33.56).
