Katharina Assman, a freshman on the Delta State University women's tennis team, has been named the GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week after claiming a dominating victory in single's action versus Alabama-Huntsville. Â This is Assman's first honor at DSU. Â
The Osnabrueck, Germany native marched to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over UAH's Maria Lawton in No. 4 single's play.  The point was one of two earned by Delta State in the match and the only event decided without surrendering a game to the opposition. Â
Assman and the Lady Statesmen return to action this weekend with three matches scheduled in Pensacola, Fla.  DSU faces No. 21 Nova Southeastern on Friday, No. 16 Valdosta State Saturday and rounds out the weekend with No. 7 West Florida on Sunday. Â
