Tais Cotta, a junior midfielder from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, captures her second GoStatesmen.com Female Athlete of the Week award of the season, after leading Delta State to a 2-1 upset victory over Union University this past week.

Cotta scored one of two goals for the Lady Statesmen in the decisive second half, while leading the team with five shots, three on-goal. Cotta's goal came in the 56th minute, as Tabitha Hayden found Cotta on the far post inside the 6-yard box, who booted the ball to the bottom left corner of the net to give Delta State the 1-0 lead.

Cotta played in 17 games for the Lady Statesmen this season, scoring five goals and handing out two assists. The midfielder finished the year with 30 shots, 18 on-goal and 12 points. DSU finished the year 3-12-2.
