The senior linebacker spearheaded the Statesmen's defense in a 27-3 home victory over in-state rival Mississippi College to keep the Heritage Bell Trophy and claim the seventh GSC Title in DSU history.  Island racked up a career-best 15 total tackles, including nine solo stops.  The Waveland, Miss. native was also active in the MC's backfield, notching 2.0 tackles for a loss of 15 yards and one sack.
