Taylor Guess, a 5-foot-4 midfielder from Praire Villiage, Texas, has been named the CableOne/GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Lady Statesmen Soccer team to a 1-0 victory over the University of Montevallo in the season-opener for both clubs.

Guess scored the game-winning goal off a corner from Rebecca Deegan in the 43rd minute in last Thursday's win at Delta Field.

Guess and the Lady Statesmen return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 3 p.m., as Delta State plays host to in-state rival Mississippi College.
