Greg Sims, a senior defensive back on the Delta State football team, has been named the CableOne GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the No. 5 Statesmen to a 40-0 victory over Albany State University this past Saturday at Parker Field-McCool Stadium. 

Sims recorded six tackles and returned his second interception of the season 40 yards for a touchdown in DSU's dominant defensive effort. The Brookhaven, Mississippi native also broke up a pass in the win.

Sims and the Statesmen will face Florida Tech this Saturday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. at Parker Field-McCool Stadium in the GSC-TV Live Game of the Week on ESPN3.
