Tyler Cameron, a freshman quarterback on the Delta State University football team, earned his first CableONE GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week honor on Wednesday, Oct. 28 after a record-setting performance versus the University of West Alabama.
The 6-foot-3, Foley, Alabama native, completed 34-of-55 passes for 491 yards and a DSU freshman record five touchdowns in the 41-38 setback to the Tigers. Cameron established season bests for completions, attempts, yards and touchdown passes in the outing.
Cameron broke a record shared by legendary quarterback Scott Eyster, who passed for over 13,000 yards in his DSU career, and teammate Tyler Sullivan.
